Interpreting
I provide interpreting at conferences, workshops, lectures, business meetings, and cultural events between English and Czech; French and Czech.
I will be happy to help you choose the best interpreting format for your event and discuss the equipment you will need. I also have experience in online interpreting.
I prepare carefully for each event to provide a smooth experience to the audience.
Simultaneous

Interpreters speak simultaneously with the speaker, and the audience listen via their headphones.

This format requires interpreting equipment, such as a booth, consoles and receivers, and there almost always are two interpreters.

This model saves time because the interpreting is done simultaneously while the speakers are talking.

It is mainly used at conferences and lectures.
Consecutive

The speaker and the interpreter take turns in speaking.

You will not need an interpreting booth, and one interpreter can often do the job, but you must take into account the time necessary for the interpretation of the speech.

This model is mostly used at seminars, small business meetings or short openings of cultural events.
I am based in Prague, the Czech Republic, but I can travel.
In Czechia, I will find a second interpreter to team up with in the booth for simultaneous interpreting and I can help you order the interpreting equipment.

Translation
I will translate your English or French text into Czech so that the translation is fit for its purpose.
I specialise in commercial law (contracts), education, migration, and media. I always make sure to use correct terminology and avoid mistakes.
If necessary, I have my translations checked by a proofreader.

Video Subtitles
I will translate your video or film subtitles into Czech or create subtitles using the dialogue list or by ear. I will synchronise the subtitles with the film.
As reading subtitles is different than reading a static text, I make sure the subtitles are easy to read and understand for the audience to fully enjoy the film.

Czech Proofreading
I will check your documents in Czech to ensure they are well-written. Your text will be grammatically correct and easy to read.
However, I don’t proofread English and French: I recommend you use the services of native speakers with the right expertise.
